Kevin Elder
Chief Executive Officer, Chairman
Using teamwork and leadership skills, Kevin Elder worked his way through college as a top salesman, while participating in the football program at California State University at Long Beach. In 1995, armed with only a small loan and a clear vision of what his company would become, he founded GoWireless, a leading nationwide Verizon Premium Retailer, which he led for nearly three decades. GoWireless had over 800 locations in 36 states and generated more than one billion dollars in annual revenue. Throughout his career Kevin has started and invested in dozens of successful businesses. He sold GoWireless in 2022, leading to the formation of HUKL Investments.
Paul Huether
Chief Financial Officer / Board Member
Paul Huether previously served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of GoWireless. Paul’s experience in diversified management spans over 30 years, including the 20 years he spent in wireless. A Certified Public Accountant, Paul graduated with honors from Seton Hall University and began his public accounting career with Price Waterhouse. He held senior management positions with medical distributor, Henry Schein and previously served as Vice President and General Manager of PageNet in Las Vegas. Prior to his role at GoWireless, Paul was CFO of The Impact Companies, a conglomerate of multiple companies in the aggregate production, sales, and land development in the greater Las Vegas Valley.
Jay Wieseler
Advisor / Board Member
Jay Wieseler began his career with PageNet, where he ultimately oversaw all business to business and retail paging sales as Area Vice President of Sales for the San Francisco Bay Area; an area of over 460,000 customers, with revenue in excess of $34 million. Jay joined GoWireless in 2001 as the Vice President and General Manager for the state of Washington. He then served as its Chief Marketing Officer and later on as its President. Jay graduated from University of Nebraska Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Marketing.
John Salisbury
Chief Operating Officer / Board Member
John Salisbury previously served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer at GoWireless. During his tenure, John was responsible for Corporate Operations, including supply chain, loss prevention and information technology. He was also heavily involved in the development of new products and services. John has over 27 years’ experience in the wireless industry. Prior to joining GoWireless, he held multiple positions at PageNet focusing on sales, customer service, inventory control, fixed asset accounting, budgeting/forecasting and corporate training. John is a graduate of San Diego State University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance.
Kevin Seltzer
General Counsel / Board Member
Kevin Seltzer served as the General Counsel of GoWireless for the past nine years. Having practiced law for more than two decades, he obtained his Juris Doctorate in 1998 from The George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. Kevin is a licensed member of the California State Bar and holds an in-house counsel designation with the Nevada State Bar. He has applied his broad, practical business experience as in-house counsel for various companies. For over 5 years, Kevin served as the Associate General Counsel for the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
Gavin Hoover
Chief of Staff
Gavin Hoover co-founded HD Training and Development, an innovative employee development company back in 2010. In 2011 Gavin joined GoWireless and served in multiple capacities, including Vice President of Training, Vice President of Human Resources and most recently as Chief of Staff. During his tenure he was responsible for all aspects of HR, including talent acquisition, benefits, HR systems, training, compensation design and employee communications. Prior to GoWireless, Gavin spent 15 years with Verizon in training leadership and sales roles. He graduated from California State University at Fullerton in 2002, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications/Argument and Persuasion.
Mark Borges
Chief Information Officer
Mark Borges leads global teams supporting IT and business functions. Prior to HUKL Investments, Mark led all IT infrastructure, business automation, IT risk/compliance and offshore Business Process Operations (BPO) functions at GoWireless. He has extensive experience building global teams and created a cost effective 250-person branch office in the Philippines to support all GoWireless, Cell Brokerage and FixIT Mobile business functions. Mark has successfully led IT, information security and operations teams for more than 30 years. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, an MBA and a Master of Science in computer information systems from Bentley University.
Chef Jose Lupe Avila
Vice President of Culinary Operations
Born in central Mexico, Chef Jose Lupe Avila’s love of cooking began by his grandmother’s side. The youngest of four brothers, Jose graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 2003, becoming one of the youngest managers for The Cheesecake Factory restaurant group. He later joined the MGM Grand at Nob Hill (a Michael Mina restaurant), where he took on the role of master cook. Jose was hired by the Charlie Palmer group as the Executive Sous Chef for the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino restaurant (one Michelin star). There he honed his skills under the mentorship of Executive Chef Vincent Pouessel and was later recruited to join the opening team for Botero, a steakhouse with Mediterranean influence. Under the mentorship of Chef Mark Lorusso, Jose was quickly promoted to Assistant Executive Chef. Shortly thereafter he was recruited by Hubert Keller to assume the position of Executive Chef at Fleur and in 2018, Jose was recruited by Station Casinos to lead the team of T-Bones steakhouse. He was promoted to Assistant Executive Chef of Red Rock Casino Resort in 2019. In this new role he was tasked with overseeing 12 different restaurant outlets, in addition to assisting with Red Rock’s leased outlets. Jose was Promoted to Executive Chef of the Red Rock Casino Resort in 2021 where he led the resort’s food operations, as well as special events and catering.
Juan Martinez
Vice President of Drink Boutique
Juan Martinez began his sommelier career at the age of 21, which at the time made him Las Vegas’ youngest sommelier. Juan’s first restaurant was Terra Verde, an Italian restaurant with a fresh seafood focus. He later made a move to Hank’s Steakhouse, where he had the opportunity to build an award-winning wine list. He was recruited by Chef Shawn McClain for the opening of Sage, which was featured as the best wine pairing restaurant in the nation by the Wine Advocate. Juan was then recruited to join Red Rock Casino Resort as the Resort Sommelier at T-Bones and received the Wine Spectator Award 9 years in a row. When Scotch80 at The Palms was opened by Station Casinos, Juan had the opportunity to create a wine culture similar to that of T-Bones.
Steven Thompson
President of Cell Brokerage
As the President of Cell Brokerage, a national independent insurance agency headquartered in Las Vegas, Steven Thompson set up an innovative insurance product system to insure wireless devices for consumers and businesses. Steven worked to create unique, self-insured programs via captive insurance companies and the agency grew rapidly, offering all property and casualty insurance lines. He was previously the president of an insurance consulting firm where he brought new quick-issue life insurance products to market in the U.S. and Canada for both retailers and banks. Steven also owned and operated a life insurance agency in Denver, selling term life insurance through online, radio and TV marketing channels. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics with an emphasis on Business from the University of Colorado in 1995.

Head Strong
HUKL Investments proudly support our United States armed forces and veterans. As part of that support, we believe in providing effective mental health services for all service members and veterans. Supporting Head Strong is an important part of the HUKL mission. Head Strong provides critically important psychological services for those that have sacrificed for our country.
